As the April showers linger longer than we might like and May feels more like March, one can only wonder what June will bring.  But that is okay, because  God knows, and we have by faith and by our own experience known that God is trustworthy!
I have been thinking a lot about faith and trust lately, especially concerning our church and the. difficult and challenging circumstances we find ourselves in.  We are the body of Christ in this community that we call home. We are also, physically speaking, homeless.  We have no church building that we can call ours.  But we still gather every Sunday morning for worship, we still praise God. We still provide for several mission projects as we have for many years, we still fellowship together.  We are the church!   So, why the concern about faith and trust?
We have prayed for some land on which to build a new church home and God through some faithful people has provided that land.  We have prayed for funds to begin creating a new Home-place for God’s people to gather and those funds have begun to flow. It seems however, that we are lacking in the faith and trust to step out and begin.
I certainly understand the desire to count the cost before starting to build and to be fully prepared to complete it.  But I also believe that this is a time to trust that our gracious and generous God can and will provide what is needed to complete the task.  He has already provided land and funds to make significant steps forward. Why should we doubt that He will see it through to the end?  It is good to talk about our faith and to encourage one another in that faith. But it is quite another thing to put on the full armor of God and walk in that faith!
So, I think we need to ask ourselves, do we trust God when it gets real? Or is it just talk?
For those of you who are not directly involved in the Caton church I would simply ask for your prayers as we continue to move toward the place where God wants us to be.
For those who are close to this situation, think on these things and pray that God’s will be done!

Yours in the love of Christ,
Pastor Dick

Breath Prayer: Step by step Lord, may we walk in trust and in Faith! Amen
