The Midweek Message is an On-Line Ministry We often hear people say that we should praise God in the storm as well as in the calm and of course that is scripturally correct. I wonder though, how many of us can follow that advice. How many of us have the spiritual maturity to claim God’s victory the midst of our own personal struggles and defeats. Of course, as always, it is a matter of faith, isn’t it? And sadly, when we fall short of that goal, we often magnify the defeat with a generous helping of guilt and self-deprecation. It seems that sometimes we are our own worst enemy. But Jesus does not require us to have all the answers. He does not ask us to be perfect or to have our act together at all times. Jesus simply says that we should “cast all our cares upon Him… because He cares for us!” So, when your world is falling apart, when your well-ordered life is a mess, when you are in the midst of the storm… Give it to God and as my brother used to say, “Hide and watch.” Hide and watch and witness the power of God dealing with your storm! Friends, the battle is not ours to fight. Yours in the love of Christ Pastor Dick Breath Prayer: May I hear your “Peace be still” over my rough waters. Amen
