The Mid-Week Message is an On-Line Ministry Of Pastor Dick Hurd and the “Caton Church” A Global Methodist Community of Faith November 5, 2025 Somehow, in the presence of all things important, someone in the vastness of cyberspace has discovered that I have a Golden Retriever. Consequently, all my social media accounts have been inundated with all manner of Golden Retriever information, silly memes, and unsolicited advice. I don’t believe that I have any deep dark secrets in my life, but still, it kind of makes me feel kind of exposed. If this has happened to you, I suspect that it might make you a bit uneasy to think that your life is an open book, and that someone knows all about you. But we already knew that didn’t we? Certainly, our faith and scripture remind us often that God knows our very heart and that nothing is hidden from him. There is no virus or malware protection that can shield us from God’s view. So, I wonder, if it makes us uncomfortable to think that the world knows us intimately, why do we not experience the same discomfort in the fact that God knows us intimately as well? The old hymn proclaims “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.” I cannot recall any such statement in the terms and conditions we all must agree to in order to access the internet. The only terms and conditions in our relationship with God can be found in the words of John 3:16. So, perhaps trust is the key! And if so, the question must be, do you trust God with every aspect of your life?
Pastor Dick Breath Prayer: I trust you Lord in all things! Amen
