         Jesus, Jesus , Jesus, there’s just something about that name. I have said or sung those words many, many times never questioning what that something is, just accepting it as a mysterious truth.                                                             

          My sister recently asked me, “Do you have a favorite Bible verse?”  Without thinking I replied “sure, lots of them!”  She said, “I like that answer.”           

          Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I think I figured it out, at least for me, the “something” is the deep abiding blessing that Jesus grants us whenever we hear His name or share His word or find blessing in His creation.  The “something” is that heart-swell of joy, that exhilarating breathiness we experience when we think of the unconditional and unlimited love that the name Jesus represents.  The “something” is the sense of peace we feel when we truly lean on and trust in the name of Jesus!  In a couple of weeks, we will once again greet the Son of God as He once came to us as a tiny baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.  And we will recall how from the very first, the angel said, you will call his name Jesus for He will save His people from their sins.                                                                                        

          As you celebrate this Christmas season, consider what the “something” is for you every time you hear the name of Jesus!  For truly there is “something” about that name for each one of us who is blessed to call Him Lord!
