The Mid-Week Message is an On-Line Ministry Of Pastor Dick Hurd and the “Caton Church” A Global Methodist Community of Faith December 24, 2025 It’s the night before Christmas and all of God’s creatures wait in breathless anticipation for the promised miracle to become a sacred reality. And in the lowliest place conceivable, God’s Glory springs forth. In the soft glow of a single lantern the light of the whole world is born. That Holy light comes to us in the person of an infant King, a Messiah, a baby boy whose name is Jesus. And the world will never be the same again! So, what has changed since that night so long ago? On the morning after the miracle how is the world different? Certainly, the change began as a tiny spark of light in a very dark world. Just a little more love was present in that stable if only within the Holy Family itself. But then shepherds came and they adored Him, and wise men came to pay homage, and others surely admired this little one. As he grew, he had friends who noticed something different about him, as a young man people of Galilee listened to his message of love and mercy. Even as those in power came against him and finally killed Him, he loved and forgave. He was victorious over death and in spite of it all He continued to love all of creation. He sent His disciples out into the known world and they repeated his story and shared His Love. Down through the ages millions of people came to believe and were granted salvation by virtue of their belief. And tonight, we come once again to hear the old. Old story, to sing of that moment of glory and to make room in our hearts and homes for a tiny baby to come and be born again in us! May you in this most blessed of seasons find room in your heart for Love to be born again Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. May you be wrapped in the Love of Jesus! Pastor Dick
