Do you remember the song, “You Light up my life”? It was sung by Debbie Boone in 1978. It was of course originally a love song. I heard that song again the other day, and it struck me how well it fits into our relationship with Jesus! Right from the beginning, can you recall when your spirit was waiting for something or someone but you really didn’t understand who or what it was? And then Jesus came along and He lit up your life! Here are the lyrics, read it without the music and I think you might see what I mean.
So many nights I'd sit by my window
Waiting for someone To sing me his song
So many dreams, I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark, But now you've come along

Can you relate to those words? Does Jesus light up your life? Does He give you hope to carry on? I pray that this is as true for you as it is for me. Does he light up your days and fill your nights with song? Have you finally made that turn toward home? If you have, when you get there, don’t forget to tell Jesus that you love him! I think He would love to hear that from every one of us.
