Have you seen the NFL advertisements that repeat over and over with great enthusiasm, “See you on Sunday?” Have you noticed how excited they are about it? Now, I enjoy a good football game as much as many of you, but “See you on Sunday” Holds a very different meaning to me, and I hope for you as well!  Sunday is the time for a much greater endeavor than determining who will go to the super bowl.  It is an endeavor which determines who will attend the great supper of the lamb of God.  And that, my friends is not even in the same league!  So, if I see you in the grocery store and say, see you on Sunday please know that I am not referring to a football game.   I realize that this is not a profound theological treatise but sometimes you have to go with what you have.
So, to continue with the football analogy perhaps we could consider who the quarterback might be.  Of course, that would be Jesus himself because he is the one who calls all the plays. You might be a guard because you are called to guard your heart against the attacks of the evil one, i.e. the opposing team.  I guess I am just the coach, the one charged to direct the game plan from the sidelines. I pray that each of you are the pass receivers catching the ball that our Lord has thrown and carrying it through the blockers and interference put forward by the opposition all the way to the end zone for a personal and eternal touchdown.  Remember in the game of life there are no field goals, and no points after, the touchdown in Heaven is the whole ball game. See You On Sunday, Morning!!

Yours in the love of Christ,

 Pastor Dick
